Report: Android users in US download more apps but spend less

According to a latest report, Android users who are “cost-conscious” download more apps compared to iPhone users, however are less interesting in spending on pricier apps.

Google Play is not the same moneymaker for app makers as its Apple App Store counterpart. Android users download more apps from Google Play, but are not all that motivated to spend.

Report: Android users in US download more apps but spend less

The new report shows on average Android users in the US are spending 33 percent less on Google Play compared to iPhone users are on the App Store. Android users download more apps per device, an average of 42 from Google Play in 2016, while in the same year iPhone users downloaded an average of 33 per device from the App Store.

Android users are much into their games as gaming category accounted for a 90 percent of their total average expenditure. The mobile games category is considered as the best performer for Google Play as well as the App Store.
