Qualcomm first hinted the Snapdragon 820 in March at MWC, but afterwards it rarely visited rumor mill to leak few details of the chipset. However, it is now believed that the chipset giant will unveil its next flagship chipset anytime soon.The rumors are that the chipset will be announced on August 11. To be more precise it will be a special event in Los Angeles.

Qualcomm will soon unveil its next Snapdragon 820

So far the rumors claim Snapdragon 820 will use Kryo cores, custom designed by Qualcomm. This is considered a potential return to the company’s past attire. Very recently Qualcomm has built custom designed Krait CPU cores which have been featured in its top of the line offerings like Snapdragon 805.

The Snapdragon 810 was designed on ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture. Later 810 was found experiencing overheating issues which nearly brought the death to this model. Moreover, as more consumers and device makers have urged for a better chipset, this announcement will be a great remedy for discredit of the firm. 820 will probably start running smartphone near you at the end of the year, or, more likely, in early 2016.

The snapdragon 820 will bring quad-core CPU, the Adreno 530 GPU, the MDM9x55 LTE Cat.10 modem, and will be made on a FinFET process – either Samsung’s 14nm or TSMC’s 16nm.
