Online Gaming Hurting Youth by Exposing Them to Crime, Told Dubai Police

Dubai Police tried to warn parents about the potential dangers online gaming holds as it exposes teenagers to drugs and crime.Already, Dubai Police has blocked total 38 websites which were promoting usage of drugs inside UAE. Also, they have deployed 4279 patrols to look into the websites every day in order to block games or websites containing harmful content.

Assistant to the Dubai Police Chief for Criminal Investigation Affairs, Major-General Khalil Ebrahim Al Mansouri, shared: “Online games are not as safe as they first appear. These sites are educating children about how to commit crimes like murder and theft and some sites encourage them to join terrorist organisations. Some sites show how to commit fraud on social networks and promote drugs.”

Senior officials of the police who blocked websites said that kids playing games may face other teenagers who may be adults and try to strike a conversation related to immoral and illegal activities such as use of drugs and fascinating them to join terrorist groups.
