HMD global had promised the availability of Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 in July, but contrary to that, HMD Global has now announced that the smartphones will be available for purchase from mid of August in India. The HMD Global had launched the Nokia-branded Android smartphones back in June.

Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 sales premiere from mid of August

The HMD Global spokesperson said in a statement that we are very thankful to the fans by seeing their response to Nokia 3. Now, we are ramping up our production for Nokia 3 on first concern to meet the existing customer demands. Within a next week, we will initiate the production of Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 to get them accessible for sales premiere from mid-August. However, the HMD Global did not declare a definite date, but according to some reports the company has an unsettled plan to debut the sales of Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 in India on ‘Independence Day’, August 15.

HMD Global is trying to rejuvenate the brand value which Nokia had enjoyed once upon a time in India, it’s also adopting the government’s ‘Make in India’ policy. The company has announced at the launch event of new Nokia smartphones that soon all Nokia-branded devices sold in India will be locally manufactured.
