The Whatsapp scam asks you if you want to change the colors of your Whatsapp to make it look more beautiful, ignore the message because it probably is the scam. According to the news source, Whatsapp uses Cyrillic letters to get the looks of Whatsapp.com.

When user hits the link, message invites to change pops up color of Whatsapp, it says, “New colors for WhatsApp, now you can change your WhatsApp and leave it your favorite colors.” Also tells the user that the feature is available for Windows, Blackberry, and Apple.

Later the site asks user to verify by sharing the site with 12 friends, after verification, the message says the feature is for desktop site only, indicate them to install ‘BlackWhats’ extension from the Chrome store.

In the end, it gives user goose bumps in the form of malware and virus rather than beautiful Whatsapp coloring feature experience for which user goes through all the steps.
