In the last quarter that spanned from July to September, we have once again observed a peak in terms of global app usage. App Annie, a global analytics firm, has reported that there were more than 26 billion downloads of different apps on the global scale.

In comparison of the stats recorded a year ago, these numbers indicate an overall 8% rise in the downloads. Similarly, the time spent on the app usage has also increased by 40% as compared to the one recorded in the last year only.

When talking about only the Android users, the users have spent more than 325 billion hours on the apps. These numbers might have been achieved owing to increasing usage of smartphones and LTE technology in India and China, due to which the rate of downloads almost doubled this year as compared to 2016 stats. Moreover, the app revenue has also reached by more than $100 billion in this year.
