ZUK has very recently launched a phone Z1 while having a complete backing of Lenovo. This runs home-brewed ZUI in China. Internationally, it has launched with Cyanogen OS 12.1 based on Android Lollipop 5.1.1. With the recent release of Android Marshmallow, the users of ZUK Z1 are wondering, will they receive this update? The answer form the co-founder of ZUK is undoubtedly, yes.

Lenovo ZUK Z1 will receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow in 2016.

ZUK’s Marshmallow-based ZUI is already in works which is expected to release on February 8, 2016. Also it is very likely that the international version will be updated to Cyanogen OS 13, again based on Marshmallow. But there are two things, first it is a pretty young phone and second Cyanogen team has recently started working on the update, so it will be no sooner than next year as well.
