Report: Lenovo's PHAB 2 Pro won't be picking up the Nougat update

According to a latest report, Lenovo is deserting the PHAB series. Lenovo joined hands with Google to release the PHAB 2 Pro, the first consumer-ready Tango device. The PHAB 2 Pro price was $500 back in 2016. It launched with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and now it seems that that is where the phone is going to stay in future as well. Lenovo’s update tracker page says that the device will not be getting the Android 7.0 Nougat update.

But it is not only the PHAB 2 Pro that is going to stay behind. In fact, all the devices in the PHAB 2 series including the PHAB 2 Plus and the PHAB 2 will not be getting Nougat update as well. Most of Lenovo’s existing devices having one platform update, but they will not be switching to Android O.

Earlier this year, Lenovo rolled out the Android 7.0 Nougat update to various low end phones in India such as the K6 Note, K6 Power, P2, and the Z2 Plus. It is now getting into stock Android in a bid to release faster updates. However, no platform update adding to the PHAB 2 Pro specs is objectionable.
