We have reported already that Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus will go on sale from the next week around the world. When it is on sale in Pakistan is not yet known however. The differences between S8 and S9 are stark when you look at them closely. They are not like identical. And that means that S9 and S9+ are going to have more advanced features.

Does that really justify the higher price of the phone then? Currently, as per the reports, on launch date the Galaxy S9 price in Pakistan will be Rs. 100,000, while Galaxy S9 Plus price in Pakistan is not yet known. This means that Samsung is going charge an extra amount of about Rs. 20,000 for new Galaxy S9 in comparison of Samsung Galaxy S8.

That being said, two questions arise in this regard, i.e. whether the price of S9 duo is justified, and especially after the decline in S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus price, would the people consider to purchase S9!

If we look into Apple, the American company also took the same strategy while launching 2017 series of iPhones, as it first reduced the price of its iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. So, Samsung might also be up for the same strategy. Moreover, the VAT effect could also be applicable here, as Samsung model’s prices are varied in different regions due to taxes applied. But overall, higher taxes might have led Samsung Mobile Phone to raise the prices of its flagship S9 duo this year.

Till the time of launch, let’s wait and watch if the final prices are adjusted or maintained as they are now before launch.
