An event will soon be held in New Delhi to launch “New Global Mi”. There is difference of opinion regarding the event. One source says it will be about Redmi Note 2, the other claims it to be the Mi4i launch. The Mi4i is now supposed to be the cheaper version of Mi4 this is because the device comes in plastic body unlike its original version which is all-metal body with demoting specs.

The touchscreen is 5-inch 1080p panel. The chipset is expected to be Qualcomm’s midrange Snapdragon 615 with octa-core CPU instead of the Snapdragon 801.

Cheap version of Xiaomi Mi4i to be unveiled on April 23

The Mi4i will sport a 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. Camera-wise, it has a 13 MP rear camera, and a 5 MP selfie shooter. It has Dual-SIM dual-standby capability and is LTE-enabled. The price of this handset will be close to CNY 1,300, which is around $209 or €195.
