Xiaomi Launches Redmi 2 in India

After the contest finally the Redmi 2 has been launched in India. The mobile features dual-SIM capability supporting two 4G SIMs. For India, it supports both 4G LTE network with Band 3 and Band 40 on both the SIM slots. The 16 GB model with 2GB model is expected to release later but the 8GB model is priced at INR 6,999 which roughly makes $112. Registration at Flipkart has started from yesterday but the shipment will start from March 24.

Spec-wise, it comes with 4.7-inch HD display protected by AGC Dragon trail Glass. Xiaomi new device runs on a 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 mobile chipset with Adreno 306 GPU. It runs on MIUI v6 based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat. Camera-wise, it offers an 8MP camera with LED flash at the rear with capability to record full HD video and a 2MP camera in the front with HD quality. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, USB Host, USB OTG, FM Radio. It is powered by a 2200mAh battery.

Xiaomi Fresh device is seemingly a direct competitor of newly announced Motorola Moto E (2015) 3G Dual-SIM at the same price.
