Wikipedia is famous online encyclopedia and is one of the the first online tool available when there was no other informative site available. Wikipedia is being blocked in Turkey. This ban is not only done for the Turkish language but it is also for around 300 versions of other languages.

According to the resources this ban is not done by the court’s decision, instead it is done by the administration. Soon the court will announce its decision.

Now Turkish users can only access Wikipedia through through VPN (Virtual Private Network). It is not clear that why Wikipedia is blocked in Turkey. We have heard that Wikipedia did not agree to block some pages. Wikipedia is free source where any one can make some page and do changes.  Wikipedia is very famous in Turkey and every student and professional use it often. According to the Alexa which is the website for the ranking ranks Wikipedia at #16 in Turkey.
