The Tizen Developer Summit 2015 taking place in Bangalore, India, has come with lot of announcements and details. Samsung also confirmed certain details about the Gear A smartwatch. Moreover, the company is also urging to out a few features coming to future versions of Tizen, its home-grown developed mobile OS.
First of all the next iteration of Tizen, version 2.4 will come with easy sign-up features, including single sign-on and “phone-based automatic certification”. This is quite similar to what happens in Android where you can use the Google account in your handset with for some apps requiring registration. There is also sharing menu is coming to Samsung‘s OS while mimicking the feature that has already been in Android for a long time. Moreover, “mega size file sharing” will be possible through cloud storage providers. Some navigation features such as geofencing, routing, and points of interest will also arrive in Tizen 2.4.
This version also allows you to create a profile on your phone which you can then share with friends, which will also assist you sharing something that’s a basic part of every mobile messaging app out there. Finally, messaging itself will be improvedso that you can send large files for free, where “large” means 30MB. These can be stored for a limited time 15 days.
The Next to Tizen 2.4. ; Tizen 3.0 should launch later in 2015 or early 2016. It will bring support for multiple users on a single device, 64-bit processing capabilities, as well as an Internet of Things framework built-in.
Samsung will also look into the security which is going to behigher and simplified at the same time – though we aren’t given any more details on this for now.
