Recently the news comes out Snapchat downloads is decreasing, and then Snapchat decided to sell its shares. The decline rate is 26.5% reported back in March. Last month the company reported their net loss of $2.2 billion for their first quarter that particularly dropped the stock about under $20 billion.

Surprisingly Snapchat Downloads are Reducing!

Also the news comes out that shares recovered a little bit since, then in the second quarter might also bring a bad news.

As the start of second quarter, the download of Snapchat app is again more down and comes up to 22% down, and this is according to the data taken from Instinet. The company whose value was $800 million in June 2013, now its value us just $23 billion, due to the unusual drop off in downloads. On a consecutive month-to-month basis, downloads went from +6% growth during the Q1, and to the aforementioned decline two-thirds of the way through Q2. During this phase of time Apple users are considered the largest decline in Snapchat downloads i.e. 40%

What was the reason behind this is a great question arise in Analyst’s minds…

After noticing that as the Facebook, Instagram, and other apps copying the same features that the Snapchat offers, and most importantly the feature i.e. “Stories”. Previously it was only on Snapchat, but now it’s almost on all other apps. Moreover, Snapchat claims that they allow users to send messages and it would be disappear in almost 10 seconds, but now they changed it to the unlimited time, until the user dismiss it.

We know that one can’t beat the Facebook or Instagram, so people prefer to use all the features in one of their favorite app, this may cause decline to Snapchat.
