The way Sony has experienced a stumbling smartphone division, it must bring something more updated to its Z series models. That is finally its fulfilling all it announcements and promises made regarding the Lollipop update to the predecessors of Z3+ or global Z4.

Sony Xperia Z2 and Z3 series now receiving a 5.1 Lollipop update

Initially Sony will starting seeding the 5.1 Lollipop update to Z2 and Z3. Sony Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact, and Xperia Z Ultra are next in line for the firmware update. From today the update will start striking Sony Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, Xperia Z2, and Xperia Z2 Tablet.

As expected, timing and exact availability of the update will vary depending on the devices’ market and wireless carrier. The update will bring camera improvements, enhanced enterprise support, better SmartWear integration, and more customization options.
