Skype Service Blocked in UAE, Users to Contact Etisalat & Du

Video chat and online messaging app – Skype – service has been blocked in the UAE, revealed by the company. On the message boards of Skype, users expressed their frustration as the service wasn’t even available on days of Eid. The users of Skype are unable to connect to their families and friends.

‘It has been brought to our attention that our website and services have been blocked by both of the ISPs in the United Arab Emirates. That means, you won’t be able to use Skype in the United Arab Emirates’, said in a Skype statement.

Also, Skype can’t do much about the prevailing situation but the best measure suggested by the company is to talk to the ISP and request them to unblock Skype call and website services.

The news break just after Whatsapp video calling feature unblocked in UAE and the news was making rounds. Although UAE telecommunication regulatory authority has refuted all such reports.
