Previously the Samsung performed test with S6 by violently dropping it. The device survived without any damage. Now we are aware that both the S6 and S6 Edge are not water proof. So what will happen if you drop your handset in water? TechSmart performed a test by keeping the S6 Edge under water for more than 20 minutes. The device did last under water over 20 minutes and then got powered off. This is considerable time to test the capacity of a non-water resistant device and the results are not very disappointing. After some drying and charging, the device came back to life but it still has water in it or even might or might not reboot. So if you by chance drop your S6 Edge in water and just pick it up, there is fair chance of survival but the depth of the water also matters for example an IPX7 rating specifies 1m depth. So you need to find out what rating S6 Edge has.
