Samsung announces to power down it Galaxy Note 7 units – both original and replacement.

Up till now, after the replacement program, six of Galaxy Note 7 exploded in different incidents. A recent incident took place at South Korean Burger King. The explosion was captured by a video. This means even the safer version (replacement unit) with new battery, could prove dangerous for the user.

Samsung is telling everyone who is using their phones, original and replaced one, to shut it down to avoid any damage. The company is informing its retail partners worldwide, including carriers, to even stop exchanging the recalled model with the replaced one. Moreover, Samsung has given strict instruction to global partners to stop selling phone to anyone.

“We are working with relevant regulatory bodies to investigate the recently reported cases involving the Galaxy Note7. Because consumers’ safety remains our top priority, Samsung will ask all carrier and retail partners globally to stop sales and exchanges of the Galaxy Note7 while the investigation is taking place.

We remain committed to working diligently with appropriate regulatory authorities to take all necessary steps to resolve the situation. Consumers with either an original Galaxy Note7 or replacement Galaxy Note7 device should power down and stop using the device and take advantage of the remedies available.”-Samsung

The company has been investigating the matter and has warned the users to completely shut down their phones.
