Oppo is now planning to build a manufacturing facility in India to which is the third largest smartphone market in the world. “India is one of the most important part of our expansion plans around the world… We are exploring options. We are in discussions with Foxconn, it’s almost in the final stages, we will have more clarity by October,” said Mike Wang, Oppo Mobiles India CEO.
He also revealed of establishing an assembly line in the country.This comes just a month after Motorola has announced of starting a production facility in India and seriously evaluating this option. Also Samsung is already in India with the business of manufacturing smartphones. The other two Sony and HTC are also looking forward to Make In India Bandwagon.
