OnePlus One did plan to abandon the Cyanogen OS. Meanwhile, they also worked on building custom Android based OS dubbed Oxygen. The OnePlus customers will not get the Lollipop update as they expected. This is because CyanogenMod 12S update and the new Oxygen OS are being announced to launch by March 30. The launch is even in delay as the company official says that OnePlus will instead give free phones to selected lucky people.

This means that OnePlus’ homegrown Oxygen OS is still under testing before going public for download.  When it will go public, download the Oxygen OS first and then install it on your devices. It will not be an OTA update like the CyanogenMod one.
