Nokia’s Revival Company CEO Has Resigned

HMD Global, a company behind Nokia’s revival, loses its CEO.

According to a statement by HMD Global: “Through mutual agreement between Chief Executive Officer Arto Nummela and the HMD Global Board of Directors, Arto Nummela will leave HMD with immediate effect”

HMD Global still owns rights to Nokia brand name. They have launched several Nokia smartphones in the market along with the new edition of Nokia 3310.

The reason behind the resignation of CEO Arto Nummela is still unknown. However, his resignation echoed by the company as HMD said that the decision is mutual.

Florian Seiche, HMD Global President will now be replacing Arto as CEO. HMD’s Chairman of the Board, Sam Chin, said: “On behalf of the whole Board, I thank Arto for his contribution and wish him well in his future endeavours”. Arto had joined HMD last year. Previously, he has served in Nokia and Microsoft.

HMD has played a vital role in Nokia’s revival. Nokia was down in the dumps but HMD single handedly branded it again. Nokia 3 and Nokia 3310 have already launched in Pakistan while Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 will be launched in coming months.
