Privacy of photos on social media is the biggest issue globally. People usually create fake profiles by using someone’s photos. Taking care of users privacy Facebook introduces its latest feature that will be launched soon; that is designed to stop people from misusing someone’s profile photos. This feature is on test only in India up till now.
This is a simple process of guarding your profile pictures, as it comprised of 5 separate layers of protections. Firstly, it will disable the downloading and sharing options for both Facebook App and inbox messages. Secondly, it will disable taking the screenshots from Facebook’s Android App. Moreover, people who are not on your friends list will no longer be able to tag themselves, or anyone else on your profile picture. Last but not the least some Visual Protections also added like a blue border around your profile picture, and the patterns overlaid on the top of your picture.
Still these protections do nothing if someone is keen for stealing someone’s picture, but it will reduced the likelihood of stealing photo by almost 75%. Moreover, this test is for Indian women, but probably soon this functionality will also be available for other countries as well.
