The Window’s powered Lumia 640 and Microsoft Lumia 640XL made quite a show this year at MWC. The Lumia 640 XL is clearly the ultimate flagship with a larger screen and better cameras. The two devices also share the same Qualcomm MSM8226 Snapdragon 400 SoC with 1GB for RAM. According to new info, however, Microsoft might have planned to change this for China, by stepping up the specs on the 640 XL.

A recent device like 640XL has visited TENNA for Certification. The specs are quad-core processor, clocked at 2.2 GHz and 2GB of RAM. It has the same 5.7-inch 720p display, as well as 8GB of onboard storage. Camera-wise, it has 13MP main shooter and 5MP front-facing.

It is still unclear that the upgraded version of 640XL will ever be available outside China. Pre-orders are already up in Germany, France and UK and device will start selling in April. Pricing would definitely differ from region to region but surely it will whirl around €160 for the Lumia 640 and €220 for the 640 XL.The price for stepped up 640XL is yet unknown.
