Samsung long ago started using the OLED technology for the smartphones it offers because the OLED display has vivid colors and deep blacks than the old LCD screens have. LG is turning in favor of OLED display screens and getting away from LCD screens for its next landmark smartphone set i.e. V30, reported by The Korea Herald. The change in display would be carried forward by G7 also, the successor of G6.

LG to Switch to OLED Screen Display for Upcoming Smartphones.

Currently, Apple, HTC and LG smartphones have LCD screens but it has been all around that Apple is breaking the lead by introducing the OLED technology in new iPhone 8 this fall. However, iPhone 7S and 7S Plus would have the same LCD screen which are going to be unveiled along.Google, on the other hand, uses the OLED in its Pixel phone.

The improved and new display would distinguish V30 from recently introduced G6 which borrows many of the V20 features. OLED considered being important for the virtual reality along with Google Daydream platform; for now, reports suggest V30 release in September this year.
