Lenovo has been focusing on smartphones earlier but now they have to tackle the US market even though they have acquired Motorola in 2014

There are three latest smartphones Lenovo Phab 2, Phab 2 Plus and Phab 2 Pro which is Tango ready phone

Lenovo Phab 2, Phab 2 Plus, Phab 2 Pro comparison review

Design

All have same design and their size is really big. They are actually phablets and size is less than a normal tablet (7 inch) and little bigger than a normal 5 inch display phone.

Their size is 6.4 inches which is good enough to watch movies and the main difference is the material used for their chassis.

Phab 2 body is mostly plastic and it does not have a fingerprint sensor.

Phab 2 Plus has a metal (aluminum alloy) and has a finger print sensor as well

Phab 2 Pro is very similar to to Phab 2 Plus with a metal body but it has a unibody design with a thicker separator lines seen on the back.

Display

As we have already mentioned that their screen size is 6.4 inch

Phab 2 has a 720p IPS screen

Phab 2 Plus has a 1080p display

Phab 2 pro with pixel crunching Quad HD IPS display. Its display is quite good which Lenovo calls Assertive display.

Assertive display means that it is able to optimize the image quality depending on the lighting and the type of page or video you are viewing

Hardware

Phab 2 features Quad core MediaTek 8735 processor with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage

Phab 2 Plus contains Quadcore MediaTek 8783 chip with 3 GM RAM and 32 GB memory

Phab 2 Pro has Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 (Tango edition) SoC with 4GB RAM and 64 GB storage

Camera

Phab 2 pro hardware is made such that it is Tango ready. On the back camera modules and sensors are present which work for Tango readily.

Why is it called Tango ready?

  • It has a fish eye camera lens to get a wide view of space
  • RGB camera which helps in sensing around the room
  • IR emitter which sends IR grid to measure the time of light i.e measuring distance

Phab 2 and Phab 2 Plus has 13-megapixel camera with phase detection auto focus. Phab 2 plus has a dual camera for post bokeh effects and f/2 aperture, laser auto focus assist with a 1.34 micro pixels

Software

It has Android 6.0 Marshmallow. All the phones have customized Lenovo skin and Phab 2 Pro is Tango ready which gives you a great new experience

Conclusion

All of their phones are good due to better specs and bigger display size.  Phab 2 price is $199, Phab 2 Plus price is $299 and Phab 2 Pro is $499. They were made available globally in September 2016 but little earlier in the US. I think their price is okay as for $199 you will be getting a big phone Phab 2, $299 you can get a metal body and a fingerprint sensor Phab 2 plus and at $499 you get Phab 2 Pro with Tango friendly option. Here are the Pros and Cons of all of them
