Huawei Y6 Review

Huawei is the most aspiring smartphone company is South Asian region after Xiaomi and is consistently offering handset that are premium in design and affordable in prices. That is why it has introduced Huawei Y6 with decent design and 5-inch IPS display and a patterned backside. It is golden in color and edges have been covered with shiny paint.

Huawei Y6 further comes in two color variants; one is Black and other is White. The smartphone do has some amazing specs and features but follows some old design pattern which is a setback for its whole premium look.

The display is packed with 720 pixel resolution. The display to body percentage is 70 percent with three virtual buttons at the bottom. On the upper side of display, there are ear speakers, with camera, along with notification LED. The screen resolution is not very compact due to which screen has viewing issues at different angles. Further its touch is also not as responsive as many of its likes. Irrespective of this fact, it is still suitable for gaming. The graphics are being powered by Adreno 304 GPU.

The device is powered by Qualcomm 8209 with 1.1GHz Quad-core processor which is one of the famous despite reporting many overheating issues. The processor is a bit outdated and meek which the old with a gig of RAM and 8GB internal storage. Also it has an expandable memory of up to 32 GB. 1GB of RAM is though not superfast but is quite sufficient for playing games and watching HD movies. Well the internal memory section is very powerful with solid 8 GB capacity for long term usage.In camera department, Huawei Y6 offers an 8MP rear camera with auto focus and 720p video recording. The 2MP at the front comes with amazing results. Both cameras are super-efficient has some advanced shooting modes as HDR, Beauty and Bestshoot.  The Bestshoot take multiple photos and gel together to make one of the best quality. It is important to note that camera app does not have its own gallery rather just shows preview of last image shot.  The mode for rear camera are panorama, HDR, All-focus, Best photo, and Watermark, while watermark gives more info such as location, temperature and date.

The battery is 2200mAh, which is undoubtedly not good but despite all concerns is suitable for smartphone’s performance.  It thus shows a respectable rating in standby time if you use the device for an hour each of calls, browsing and video playback a day. It boots Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with EMUI 2.0 on top.

The Huawei Y6 will currently set you back for PKR 14, 499 in Pakistan which makes $138 according to the current conversion rate.
