From now onwards Google will inform you why it will block a certain site. This is quite contrary to previous norm when no enough details were provided of why the website was being blocked. All you can see is a blood-red page with a one sentence informing the website has been restricted.

Very recently, Mountain View of Transparency Report has decided to include a new Safe Browsing Site Status Section. Just mention the name of a blocked website and its latest status and reason for blockage comes from Google itself.

It will also be made clear that not every blocking is due to malware content; often the user upload the content or a non-permanent malware contamination becomes cause of the event. Sites will be categorized under any of three categories: “Not Dangerous”, “Partially Dangerous” and “Dangerous”. Users will learn in detail the cause of blockage of the website, and from the time it is tested.

The new Section will swap with company’s Safe Browsing diagnostic page launched previously. The newly developed page is much cleaner & simpler and provides considerable information like whether the site shows unwelcomed software or not. Google also notifies the owner regarding any malicious content to further speed up the process and resolve issues if necessary.
