A new app Spaces was announced by Google last year. Spaces  simplify the way we share things with people online. It is like a virtual room where one could connect with others to share specific topic of conversation but it failed to gain many users heed.

Google has now announced the shuttering of Spaces. In coming weeks Spaces will be moving into read only mode before shutting down its iOS and Android apps.

Google acknowledged to all its users who tried the app and shared their feedback.

It’s exceptionally amazing that this news comes on the same day that Google has outlined a brand new strategy for messaging on Android, where Spaces’ sharing features would make the most sense.
