Google recently released transparency report. Government requested to remove data, contact information of the users and also European privacy requests.
Google received many requests to remove URL’s which have violated rules. Since 2011 google has removed 2 M and above URL’s.
During last year 352,000 websites were affected and google removed 914 M URL’s
Google states that “Our goal is to help everyone understand the impact that copyright has on available content through transparency. We push back on these requests when they fail to include the necessary information or we suspect they are fraudulent “
When someone requests google to take the URL down, they do not take it down at the same time. First the administrator is notified. The administrator gets notification and Google acts as a mediator. After proper evaluation then they file a lawsuit.
