Google App Store Started Down Ranking Crash Apps

  MPC Team

Google has taken a more aggressive approach in filtering the Android apps for the Google Play Store. The process will demote the bad or the crash apps to appear in Play Store search rankings.

Google is ‘incorporating app quality signals in ranking algorithms’. It means that if a user searches for top app rankings or simply does a search for an app, chances of bad or crashing apps or the ones with low user ratings are less to none.

To develop these ‘quality signals’, Google is monitoring the ‘performance data, user engagement and user ratings’ which shows quite a competitive environment is being ensured by Google. These quality signals would not only affect the app ranking in app searches but in app listings too.

Google announced earlier this month that it is using machine learning to identify apps with crashing behavior or bad behavior in general. Example, if the app is asking for more user permissions than normal.
