Today Google is releasing personalized news feed feature to its Google app for iOS and Android users. This stream would have videos, articles and other sort of content drawn from topics of user’s interest which he or she has chosen to follow and search history. The new update is designed to make the Google app an ultimate destination for browsing and search.

The latest change also reflects Google take on Facebook and Twitter as user opens these apps to get quick news or information bites.

Google made a preview of its news feed last year in December and introduced such a feature to Android app, below search bar was Google Now, a predictive feature for search by Google. That feature same like the current one, displayed sports, traffic, weather, and other personalized information.

Rolling out the news feed means Google Now would be replaced and the updates would move to ‘updates’ tab. Major space below search bar would have stream cards associated to user’s interests.
