The Egyptian authorities have given the reason for blocking Free Basic. According to report by Reuters, the Facebook did not permit Egyptian authorities for the surveillance of Free Basic. Reuters has reported, that the ongoing talks between Facebook and Egyptian Authorities actually failed, due to which Free Basic was banned in December Last year.

Egyptian Authorities blocked Free Basic due to objection over its surveillance.

Free Basic remained in Egypt for two months after which it was blocked. In Egypt only Etisalat was offering Free Basic services.

A representative from the ministry of broadcasting has said that the ban is due to regulations by the department.

Despite of its Ban in India and Egypt, the services of Free Basic are being operation in Pakistan including 37 other countries of the world.
