Apple has announced the successor of iPhone 6s which is likely to debut this fall. The device has been visiting the rumor mill since March but it is not aggressively making rounds online. A new report has claimed the detail of the schedule of launch but not everything seems true.

The only part that is believable is the date on which iPhone 6s and 6s Plus are scheduled to be available for purchase, which strongly contradicts previous speculations. The Foxconn released information whereSeptember 18 as the launch date. It lines up perfectly with previous generations – the iPhone 6/6 Plus duo– which was launched on September 19 last year, and the iPhone 5S on September 20 back in 2013.

However the scheduled and rumored date of announcement, which is tipped to be September 11, is less likely to happen. Neither the world (certainly not the US) would want to see an iPhone on that day, nor would Apple be too happy with being the second most important thing at that day.

So we can consider the date of availability as plausible, but the major press event is likely to take place a few days earlier than suggested, perhaps around the 8th or 9th of September.
