Samsung S6 and S6 Edge are eco-friendly

Samsung latest flagship duo has received a certificate of eco-friendly in four countries namely US, UK, Brazil and Russia.

In US, both handsets also received highest Sustainability Product certification SPC from UL which is a safety testing organization. The devices are recognized for “meeting a series of rigorous criteria on toxic material, energy efficiency, recyclability of product and packaging, as well as the manufacturer’s social responsibility practices.”

In UK the handsets received “CO2 Measured Label” from Carbon Trust, while in Brazil and Russia bestowed upon them Vitality Leaf certifications.

The retail packages use 100 percent recycled paper and is printed with Soy Ink. Also, 20 percent of plastic in charger is made of recycled plastic.

The handsets are up for pre-order in US and will release on April 10.
