Lumia 540 was launched last month and is now ready to embark on shores of subcontinent. Yes the handset is heading towards India. And while launching in India there is fair chance that the device will soon hit Pakistani market too.

It will be priced at INR 10, 199 which means $160 at current exchange rate. It will be available for purchase starting next Monday which is May 18, 2015.

The handset comes with a 5-inch 720p touchscreen. It runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 chipset with a 1.2 GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU coupled with1GB of RAM, 8GB of expandable storage. Mobile network support tops out at 42.2Mbps HSPA.Camera-wise, it has an 8 MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5 MP front-facing unit. It is powered by a 2,200mAh battery.

The Lumia 540 runs Windows Phone 8.1 with the Lumia Denim update, and it will be upgradeable to Windows 10 Mobile in the future.
