BlackBerry current offering DTEK60 will not going to be region specific as anticipated. The DTEK60 was initially launched in Canada and now it will be made available for sale worldwide. The handset will debut in Europe and the first retailer offering it would be MediaMart on October 25. The price appointed for by this retailer will be euro. 600 ($660). This makes European version a bit overpriced.

The company has settled the same phone in US for $500. It is also remained to be clarified whether DTEK60 will be available for purchase on October 25 or will it be pre-orders starting that day.

BlackBerry DTEK60 will be the last BB-branded handset we can purchase this year. In some regions, it will release next year. Moreover, a smartphone by BB codenamed mercury is also in rumors so might see more handset by BB coming in next few months. Stay Tuned.
