Android co-founder Andy Robbin is working on a new modular phone.

Those who know Android are very well aware of Andy Robbin. He was co-founder of Android Corporation. Andy sold its company to Google in 2005 and kept working in Google till 2013. Also, in 2013 he started doing a project on Google and left the company in 2014.

After this he started running Tech Incubator with the name Play Ground Global. With this he also started working on smartphone.

As per new report published on Andy Robbin, he has made a new company with name Essential Products Inc. Soon it will launch consumer hardware product which will include a smartphone and smart home.

This company is operated by team of 40 people and its patent office include smartphones, tablet, accessories, and computer operating software for mobile phones.

The first product of this phone will be high-end smartphone. This smartphone will have magnetic connector hardware that will charge the battery as well as it will also increase mobile function.

This will also active third party module. Andy’s company is also working on 360 degree camera add-on, which will take high resolution 360 degree photo.

The prototype the phone says that it will have a 5.5-inch display. However, the smaller prototype’s small screen will look big due to edge to edge technology. Further the screen will be pressure sensitive.

We can expect the device to launch in the mid of this year and it will be priced near Apple latest iPhone and Google Pixel. Moreover, it is reported that the company is in talks with Foxconn for manufacturing.

It is however, yet unknown which OS this smartphone will run.
