The Samsung Z1, the first Tizen-based smartphone, was launched in mid-January. The device initially received a lot of criticism but now it appears working for the markets for which it has been built. Yes we are talking about the emerging ones and who denies Asia is the dream land for selling affordable technology. Samsung sold around 50,000 units of the device within one month and now the figure has increased to 100,000 units. Up till now the device has been launched in two markets; India and Bangladesh. The phone sells for INR 5,700 in India and BDT 6,900 in Bangladesh which roughly makes $90.
