Disney AR headset will let the user to be jedi and play the holochess game. At WWDC event, Apple displayed demo of AR by using iPad to recreate Star Wars Dejarik holochess game.

Star Wars Lets You be a Jedi with Holochess AR Game

It wasn’t just a demo, it is being official that Disney is making the holochess game with augmented reality. The company claims to bring the game to life including related projects.

The new product will work in 2 pieces. First one is the AR headset which will be made in connection to Lenovo. To work on heavy lifting, user’s smartphone would be paired with the device.

Different holochess apps all under Jedi Challenges brings lightsabers in mind. However, there aren’t any specifics given related to lightsabers. User could imagine Luke Skywalker using AR lightsaber to fight bolts.

Release date for the product isn’t official but further details related to the product are promised to be out in upcoming months.
