Skype introduces end-to-end encryption in private conversations!

End-to-end encryption bandwagon is something, which is becoming a trend in almost all the messaging services. In this regard, Skype has also joined the club. The app, which is owned by Microsoft, has been given the new functionality after the company made partnership with Signal for enabling this. Moreover, this functionality is optional and is not by default for every chat.

Therefore, the implementation of this system is similar to the implementation in Facebook Messenger, in which there are dedicated secret conversations that are established for security purpose.

The version in Skype is known as Private Conversations, and these conversations are not actually supported for the groups. In order to begin with a private conversation, the user must click or tap the + icon and then choose the self-descriptive new private chat option after which the contact needs to be selected.

After this, an invite will be sent to the contact, where the invite will be valid for only a week, which will be expired after that automatically. On the other hand, this private conversation will start after the contact has accepted the invite.
