Samsung has apparently stopped the Oreo update rollout for Galaxy S8/S8+

After a long period of beta testing, Samsung had finally started rolling out stable version of Android 8.0 Oreo update for its previous flagship devices Galaxy S8 and S8+ in the previous week. In one-week period, the update was rolled out only for selective markets, i.e. Germany, Poland, France, Norway, India, UAE, Turkey and Belgium.

A new report has however claimed that Samsung has halted the rollout for these devices. The company has intentionally pulled the firmware files from the servers of its two smartphones, which means the owners of S8 and S8+ would not be able to install the update anyway.

It would however obviously not affect those devices that have already been updated to Oreo. Additionally, it is currently not yet clear what motivated Samsung to take this move, but it will not go well with the company of such repute. The Note 7 fiasco is still fresh in people’s minds, and now this issue of however lower intensity will further make Samsung notorious.
