During an interview given at MWC 2018, the CMO of HMD, Pekka Rantala announced that new Nokia models including Nokia 5, 3 and 2 will be coming to market sometime in the future. Just recently, a new moniker Nokia 3.1 has made its initial appearance in the Twitter profile of a HMD user agent.
This report confirms the Nokia 3.1 which is also known as Nokia 3 (2018) is already under testing in labs and should arrive in retail markets soon. Other than this not much is known about the device, but further details are expected to appear soon.
Recently it was reported by mpc.com.pk that three new Nokia phones had received certifications in Russia. However, at this point it is difficult to say whether these phones actually are the Nokia 5.1, 3.1, and 2.1 models, but we’ll be looking for more information on this.
Another, important news to note here is that HMD has re-confirmed that it shall be providing the Android P update to its Nokia 5 (2017) and Nokia 6 (2017) smartphones. HMD’s CPO Juho Sarvikas assured the users with the news that these devices will be getting the latest Android OS version.
