The iPhone SE which launched last week in an unpacked event is now the most popular handset in China. The device has reached an amazing “reservation” numbers in China. According to the CNBC, the 4-inch iPhone has managed to grab up to 3.5 million pre-orders in its first wave of sale.

But if we talk about the Chinese market, the term pre-order has an entirely different meaning. But as per general rule pre-order means booking of the device with intend to purchase where actual money is exchanged. Here pre-order means the reservation where you do not give the money right away after placing the order.

This means people actually reserve the device but do not actually buy it. It is therefore impossible to guarantee whether the marked pre-order will be achieved or not. However, still the 3.5 million mark is not less impressive where the number of people are either who will buy iPhone SE or are just interested in buying it.

The same report unveils that the popular color variant remains gold, followed by the closest one Rose Gold. The iPhone SE starting price in China is CNY 3,288 which is around $506. This is very expensive when compared to $399 which is the starting price in US. However, this still isn’t as high as the price for European market has been marked. The handset will release in March 31, which means Thursday, this week.
