It screen is 5.2-inches including Huawei’s Emotion UI which offers ways around this

Screen and media

The P8 Lite 2017’s 5.2-inch screen boasts a 1920×1080 resolution so visuals are gorgeously crisp. Colors are reasonably good breathing life into photos and the rest. And if you look up the brightness levels, you will easily see through the most irritating of glare.

Huawei also added an ‘eye comfort’ mode which filters out blue light for an easy-on-the-eye viewing experience. This is best when used at night, so the screen seems less harsh when it is turned on.

It has a 16GB of internal storage which can be boosted with a microSD memory card which gives up 256GB more space.

 Features and OS

It has the latest Android Nougat and you get the latest version of Huawei’s own Emotion UI, EMUI 5.0. All you need to know is that EMUI adds some bonus customization and resource management tools to Android.

For instance, Huawei has added some one-handed functions which includes the ability to shrink the screen or pull down the notifications bar with a new toolbar button

On the back of the Huawei P8 Lite 2017 you will find a circular fingerprint sensor which is sunk into the middle of the plate. When you pick up the phone you will find your index finger lands right on that sensor so you can tap and unlock in no time at all.

Performance and battery life

The P8 Lite 2017 comes with the Kirin 655 processor as with the Huawei Honor 6X, as well as 3GB of RAM.

There is no problem playing reasonably demanding action titles with a solid frame rate, while apps get loaded with very little lag.

Battery life is strong point in Huawei P8 lite.  It goes for 2 days even with high level of use.

The charging port is USB 2.0 and not Type C so you don’t get the super-fast data transfer or reversible cable head.

Huawei P8 Lite 2017 Review: Cameras

Huawei P8 Lite 2017 does not have a dual lens rear camera like the Huawei Honor 6X but I liked its 12-megapixel snapper. It has a dense mobile shooter with good flexibility which takes sharp photos in most conditions.  You can shoot full HD video footage and the front facing selfie cam is 8 megapixel

Pros

  • Sleek design
  • Great performance
  • Feature-packed friendly UX
  • Dependable camera

Cons

  • No Type C USB

Conclusion

The Huawei P8 Lite 2017 is a great affordable smartphone that will suit even those who does not have high budget. For £185 you get a decent media phone with a dependable portable camera, smooth everyday performance and excellent battery life.  You cannot ask anything more than that in this price.
