Previously it was announced that Haier has been given the tender for the next wave of laptops being given by the government in its Laptop scheme. This is the first time in the history that Haier has been given this tender by the government. It will be the first Laptop Assembly line in Pakistan.

Haier will now officially run its laptop Assembly line in Pakistan

Haier Pakistan has collaborated with Chinese Home Appliance giant along with Parent Haier group to first initiate a test run Assembly Line which is later converted into full capacity production facility.

The initial test run was carried on for 1000 Laptops at Lahore facility. The test run was successfully completed with quality control and capacity checks that met the criterion designed. Now the manufacturing target of 2016 has already been set which is 150000 laptops till the year end. Government demand of 200000 laptops has turned the Haier to set up an Assembly Line in Pakistan.

Haier Pakistan CEO, Shah Faisal, showed appreciation towards Haier Groups assistance by saying:

“This capability to locally produce Haier branded laptops, the first major endeavour of its kind in the history of Pakistan, has been realized with full collaboration of Haier China”. He said “This is a prime example of what can be achieved given China’s willingness to assist Pakistan on the road to technological advancement.”

Laptop market is in boom in Pakistan, even the government interest in Laptop purchase has turned the dynamics. Moreover, we can produce low cost laptops locally which means better affordability for the general public in Pakistan.
