One of the sharp features iOS 11 has assured is silencing notifications or any alerts while the user is driving as the Apple’s phone determines. This keeps the user more focused on driving rather his phone keeps buzzing with notifications.

Google liked this feature and they are incorporating the same in their smart devices i.e. Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel XL 2. Pixel Ambient Services app would be preinstalled in these devices and would have the same functionality but it won’t be on by default. User has to do the settings by going to ‘Do Not Disturb’ so that it starts checking if or not user is driving.

This app in Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL uses device motion and Bluetooth to determine and more obviously with phone accelerometers. Furthermore, the app works only in latest Pixel devices and not the old ones.
