AR Core support is coming soon in Samsung Galaxy S9

  MPC Team

The AR Core SDK support by Google is not currently available for supporting the latest flagship devices released by Samsung, especially Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. As a matter of fact, that will be changed pretty soon. One of the members of the AR Team of Google has said that this support for these phones is coming soon, “Support for the S9 and S9+ will be added in the next release, which should be released in the coming weeks.”

So, in case you don’t have any clue about it already, ARCore by Google is a direct competitor of ARKit by Apple. The main purpose of this feature is to enable the AR experience for current as well as to-be-released Android smartphone without hassle of requiring any sort of additional hardware.

Moreover, this AR Core SDK preview was first released by Google in 2017, i.e. precisely in August, and its version 1.0 is recently out for preview.
