The iPhone fans have shown more sluggish response than expected towards the iPhone X. So, it may likely to lead Apple Inc. to discontinue the first generation of iPhone X around the mid of 2018, because the second generation model is all set for the release later this year.

According to the well-known analyst with KGI Securities, Ming-Chi Kuo, the Cupertino-based US tech giant Apple will not sell iPhone X at reduced price as it will agonize its other products in a low price premium segment.

The analyst further said that iPhone X will go to end of life (EOL), most likely in the mid of 2018 and its total life cycle shipments will be estimated as 62 million units, which is less than our previous estimation of 80 million units. Furthermore Kuo said that the iPhone X would hurt brand value and lineup of 2018 new iPhones, if it carries on to sell at a reduced price after the launch of new models.
