Apple confirms Face ID malfunctions on iPhone X

  MPC Team

The iPhone X which was just released at the tail end of last year and is already in trouble regarding failures with the Face ID feature. Recent reports suggest that Apple is already struggling with this feature.

Interestingly, Apple claims to have provided a solution to the reported problem. However many users are confused by their solution.

It is reported that some issue possibly exists with the dual-lens camera on the rear of the phone, which in turn is causing the Face ID functionality to malfunction.

Although the Face ID feature works via the front camera of the iPhone X, it has been claimed by reliable sources that stores which have been authorised, to fix faulty iPhone X models, are doing so by repairing the rear camera.

The alarming news here is that if repairing the rear-camera repair does not fix the Face ID malfunction then Apple stores are authorised to perform a whole unit replacement instead of a simple display repair.

Thankfully, the use of the Face ID feature is not yet widespread across the globe, but for the users who do come across this problem, the recommended course of action is to first head to the Apple’s Community Support page. Once on the page, select ‘iPhone’, then ‘Repairs & Physical Damage’. After this, click on the option that says ‘The Topic Is Not Listed’ which will then present to the user the option ‘Bring In For Repair’.

Click on this option and the user will be able to schedule an appointment with Apple support, to have your iPhone repaired or replaced.

However it’s not all bad news when you consider that the next iPhone is rumoured to have some astounding new features including the ability to fold out into a tablet. The iPhone’s super sleek appearance which has now attained a legendary status is set to blow our collective minds all over again, with a foldable screen design; which will be a world apart from the iconic rectangle shape of the phone, which has come to dominate modern culture.

A senior analyst Wamsi Mohan gave the following message to clients, after having met with multiple Apple suppliers throughout Asia:

“…Our checks also suggest that Apple is working with suppliers on a foldable phone (that potentially could double up as a tablet) for launch in 2020”.
