Alibaba showing interest in Pakistani E-commerce market and UC browser new Brand Ambassador Shahid Afridi after Mehwish Hayat

Chairman of Alibaba Group Jack Ma, is planning to establish e-commerce platform in Pakistan and want to support the e- commerce industry.

Alibaba Group delegation Max Bittner visited Islamabad with Ishaq Dar (Finance minister).   Ishaq Dar explained the Alibaba officials that Pakistan is promoting small business exports and explained that Pakistan has a great potential in ecommerce industry

The delegation said that E-commerce is increasing every year which you can say almost getting doubled every year.  Pakistan is now using the 3G and 4G technologies and almost 11% of the people are using banking apps and doing internet banking.

He also said that Pakistan has a suitable infrastructure for the e-commerce because 26 million people are using the broadband services. If we expand the ecommerce this will enhance the socio economic development of Pakistan and will increase the employment opportunities including women

All the participating members of delegation were impressed by the Pakistan progress in IT, Telecom and Broadband.

Alibaba Group is a leading e-commerce company of China. UCWeb, a business within the Alibaba Mobile Business Group, officially launched the marketing campaign of UC Browser in Pakistan in January 2017. Now UC Browsers official brand ambassador is Shahid Afridi after Mehwish Hayat.

Kenny Ye, GM of the overseas business of Alibaba group said “Everyone loves Shahid Afridi due to his fast bowling style and UC browser speed is also fast so now due to PSL fever we are hoping to improve the browsing experience of user. It also has a widget UC cricket where you can see the live scores, news, photos, videos and commentaries” Alibaba Group is also reportedly in talks to acquire Daraz.pk business.
